Unicode support apparently has not yet been added to the general LISP specification, though some companies have added Unicode functionality to their own LISP implementations. These include Harlequin LispWorks and Eclipse Common LISP. Unicode and other Chinese encoding support seems to be done through the extended-char type, where available.
